Thames Hare & Hounds – Parkland Relays 2019

Our first team event as a club in 2019 was the Parkland Relays in Richmond Park, another fixture organised by THH.

We entered two men’s teams (4 in each) and one women’s team (of 3) on a grey and soggy June evening.

Altogether 110 teams took part, with our Men’s A finishing 18th and Men’s B 54th out of the 59 men’s teams and our Women finishing 42nd out of the 51 women’s teams.

For our first attempt at this event and against many of the top London clubs, this was a terrific all-round performance. Each lap was about 4.5k and, despite the damp cross country course, we managed some very impressive times, notably Matthew Blagg (15.28), Simon Martin (17.00), and Will Campbell-Barnard (17.19) for the men and Lauren Woods (19.50) for the women.

Definitely an event for our future fixture list, perhaps with more teams next year.
